Popis: A new fracture technology based on the mechanism of the “Water Hammer” was developed and named as “Water Hammer Fracture Technology”. Having produced considerable pressure changes, presenting as a rapid increase followed by a rapid drop of fracturing pressure, through making a big change in the pump rate of the fracturing fluid. These pressure pulse could enhance fracture’s extend in direction of the width, and of the height, could produce much more fracture branches within the reservoir with multiple nature fissures and breakthrough the shale layers between the sand reservoirs. In addition to, the geometry of the fracture could be simulated by a model based on the history-match for the Water Hammer pressure signal. The experiments operated in the oilfield showed that Water Hammer Fracture technology can produce considerable pressure pulse compared with the conventional fracture technology, the history-match for the Water Hammer could reflect fracture geometry variation and the fluid with strong compressibility would make a rather longer pressure pulse.
