The results presented here refer to elementary grains of pulverulent Co3O4 prepared by oxidation of CoO [ex Co(OH)2]. In order to identify the surstructure sometimes observed on microdiffraction patterns of {111} planes, investigations were made in other orientations, particularly on {123} planes. We explain the reasons for believing that these extra spots are traces of desoriented crystallites. The possibility of twins occurrence is excluded. This result is in agreement with the mechanism of reaction proposed in a previous paper. |
