The new turbidimetric methods were evaluated in a total of 175 patients including 59 subjects without metabolic disease, 27 with type I diabetes, 20 with type II diabetes, 25 with hypertension, 23 with hypercholesterolemia and 21 with hypertriglyceridemia. When compared to the nephelometric reference method, both apo AI and apo B showed excellent correlation coefficients (0.99). A good correlation was also found for both apo AI vs HDL-cholesterol (r = 0.87) and for apo B vs LDL-cholesterol (r = 0.89). |
