Popis: | Absorption spectra of amorphous films and diffusive reflection of polycrystalline powders of samarium monochalcogenides SmS, SmSe and SmTe were investigated within 0.18–4.3 eV at T = 300 °K. Diffusive reflection spectra are characterized by absorption edge at 0.24, 0.75 and 0.70 eV for SmS, SmSe and SmTe accordingly. They are connected with electronic transitions form 4f6-level of Sm2+ion to 5d-conduction band. The last is confirmed by coincidence of optical transition energies with energies obtained from temperature dependencies of electrical conductivity, Hall effect and magnetic susceptibility. |
