Popis:	Although sport psychology scholars often refer to John Lawther’s publication of the Psychology of Coaching as an important historical event, little detail of Lawther’s many contributions to the field of sport psychology have been discussed within the literature. Thus, the present paper describes Lawther’s various contributions to the field of sport psychology. Specifically, Lawther’s activities related to the publications of the Psychology of Coaching and Sport Psychology, presentations at the first, second, and third International Congress of Sport Psychology, as well as his leadership role in promoting the application of sport psychology during the late 1960s and early 1970s are delineated
