Aspects of the degradation of polystyrene on its intensive reprocessing in blends with polyethylene

Popis:	Change in the mean viscous MM of polystyrene when processed on a disc extruder in a mixture with PE of varied composition has been studied. The results are analysed with reference to the rheological properties of PE-PS blends and the character of the process of degradation of PS in similar conditions. Change in the MM depends on the processing regimes and the composition of the blend. In certain regimes and ratios of components increase in the MM on processing PS with PE is possible.
