| Popis: | The world distribution of certain species of Stylosanthes is examined in relation to climate and phytogeographic regions. Then on the basis of previous evaluation studies in northern Australia the regions most likely to yield material suitable for the Australian dry tropics are designated. Examinations of floras and climatic data are then used to extend the studies to other genera. The implications of this work in the operation of “genetic resources centres” is discussed. |
