The Freundlich adsorption coefficients (K f a ) for azaconazole were determined on 8 different soils. At room temperature, the mean K f a was 6.56. Adsorption increased with soil organic matter content, soil acidity, and decreasing temperature. Azaconazole showed a low mobility in soil. A 300-mm drainage provoked a mean vertical transfer of 4.8 cm through the profile. Azaconazole- 14 C dissipated from a silt loam with a half-life of 355 days. It was converted to “soil-bound residue” and mineralized to 14 CO 2 No intermediate transformation products were detected. The characteristic parameters of a semi-continuous activated sludge test system were virtually unchanged by the stress of azaconazole in the influent. No transformation of azaconazole by the sludge microflora was detected, but a high affinity for the mixed liquor particulates was deduced. |
