Popis:	This review begins with a brief consideration of the many roles of saliva. Then a summary is given of the eight studies by our laboratory on the physiological and psychological relationships of stress, relaxation and saliva. This is followed by a consideration of the effects of stress and relaxation on dental caries. Finally, a summary is provided of the two studies by our laboratory on the relationship of stress and relaxation to oral digestion of complex carbohydrates.
