Popis: 1. 1. The incorporation of 3H-Leucine into the CNS of healthy and parasitized Carcinus with Sacculina shows that the protein synthesis and release in the brain and ventral ganglionic mass, and the transfer of material to the eyestalks are reduced into the infested animals. 2. 2. The presence of a Sacculinidae or injections of its root homogenates modify the electrophoregrams of the VGM of R. harrisii: (a) Fractions appear with the same mobility as some of the root's pattern; (b) a characteristic slow migrating fraction is found, suggesting a reaction against the parasite. 3. 3. The radiochemical and electrophoretic data agree with the hypothesis that the male gametogenic perturbations of infested crab are the result of neuroendocrin alterations induced by the Sacculinidae, directly or via a diffusible substance.
