Popis: | We compare the sensitivity of electrochemical gas sensors employing either traditional working electrodes based on platinum black or new working electrodes based on a-C/Pt films deposited by magnetron sputtering (MS). The new electrodes are shown to be five times less sensitive as compared to the traditional ones. However, their Pt content is about 25 times less as compared to traditional electrodes, which suggests a more efficient use of Pt. Morphological, compositional and structural investigations are performed to understand the electrochemical behaviour of the two electrodes. |
