Popis: If an acousto-optic spectrum analyzer (AOSA) operates in a low-frequency range, the lowestfrequencies of the spectrum to be analyzed may produce higher orders of diffraction. This creates thefrequency bandwidth limitation of one octave for such a device. The present paper is devoted to somemethods allowing to avoid this limitations. Such methods as data decoding using the inverse part ofthe device transmission function, higher order suppression by means of employing the Bragg cell withspecific form of its frequency characteristic, and prolongation of Bragg diffraction frequency area tothe lower frequencies using some peculiarities of anisotropic Bragg diffraction. Some experimentalresults illustrating the discussed method have been demonstrated. Keywords: acousto-optic spectrum analyzer, frequency bandwidth, dynamic range 1. INTRODUCTION The acousto-optic devices basic application is to transmit and convert information; it is especially important for AOSA. Amount of information which can be processed by AOSA, is definedby the frequency bandwidth of the device1 .
