Aging study of the Kartini reactor tank from neutronic aspect

Popis: The reactor pool tank liner is a part of the reactor system structure and components (SSCs) and is currently as an object of reactor aging management activities. The age of the reactor tank has reached 41 years, therefore it is necessary to study tank aging from various aspects, one of which is the neutronic influence. The benchmarking neutron flux by Monte Carlo N-Particle Transport Code (MCNP) and experiment measurement was carried out to determine the value in the aluminum tank. Meanwhile, the duration of the operation is based on the value of power generation ≈ 43.556 MWD and the average operating power is 100 kW. The analysis result show that neutrons fluence on the reactor tank for thermal and fast energy are in the order of ∼ 1016 neutron/cm2 and ∼ 1015 neutron/cm2, respectively. Based on the reference, the effect of neutron fluence on aluminum will have an effect on the fluence value of 1022 neutron/cm2. This study shows that the neutron fluence received by the reactor tank is still far from its physical capability limit.
