Popis: | Lanthanide phosphors have recently been proven as a novel type of fluorescent label that can be extensively used in analytical detection. La 2 (MoO 4 ) 3 :Eu 3+ phosphors with uniform twinned hemispheres morphology have been successfully synthesized via a sodium citrate mediated hydrothermal method. The crystal structure has been determined by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and the microstructures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The La 2 (MoO 4 ) 3 :Eu 3+ microcrystals emitted strong emission at 616 nm under the 269 nm excitation. The photoluminescence (PL) emission intensities were enhanced with the increment of Eu 3+ ion concentration and the optimal doping concentration was 15 mol%. The as-prepared La 2 (MoO 4 ) 3 :Eu 3+ was further applied in developing latent fingerprint images, which exhibited clear and well-defined details with high contrast and low background interference under 254 nm excitation. This work shows that La 2 (MoO 4 ) 3 :Eu 3+ powder is a versatile fluorescent label for the detection of LFPs for individual identification in forensic science. |
