Thermal columns are a natural phenomenon in which temperature differences create upward wind turbulence [1]. A radio-controlled glider with a built-in wind turbine and generator was designed and constructed. The glider was constructed using composite materials, which combine a high level of strength together with lightweight, improving energy efficiency. The generator is intended to provide renewable energy during glides, especially when thermal columns are harnessed. |
