Popis:	The published literature on production and reception of sounds and acoustical behavior of beetles of eleven families and moths of two families that include important stored products pests is reviewed. Little is known directly on the pest species, but studies on related species suggest that the pests may have acoustical reactions that could form the basis for control. Except for one promising study on Plodia interpunctella , no critical attempts have been made to control stored products pests with sound.
