Popis: This chapter focuses on the different methods for monitoring cultural heritage and archaeological sites affected by geo-hazards through the integrated method of using satellite imagery and field measurements. The Choirokoitia case study, which was one of the four UNESCO World Heritage list sites under the auspices of the PROTHEGO project, will be examined. PROTHEGO provides a new, low-cost methodological approach for the safe management of cultural heritage monuments and sites located in Europe, by integrating novel space technology based on interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR), long-term low-impact monitoring systems and indirect analysis of environmental contexts to retrieve information on ground stability and motion in the 400+ UNESCO’s World Heritage List monuments and sites of Europe.
