A study was made of the effect of the order of adding reagents on properties of polydimethylorganosilsesquioxanes prepared by hetero-functional condensation of α,ω-dihydroxydimethylsiloxanes with a mixture of di- and trifunctional organochlorosilanes or organo-acetoxysilanes, followed by hydrolytic polycondensation of reaction products. Analysis of the reaction mechanism shows that monomer ratio affects the composition of reaction products at the stage of heterofunctional condensation. During thermal polycondensation oligomers form crosslinkages and the heat stability of polymers increases. |
