Popis: In this paper, Fibers of banana and E glass are used as reinforcement in Epoxy because of their low price and accessibility in plenty. Water displacement methods are typically used to compute the density of the fiber. To improve adhesion property between fibers, they are initially treated with a 5% concentration of Na-OH and Na-Cl solution. These fibers are again treated with Hardener -HY951. The reinforcement is fabricated using the Hand layup method for 20% and 30% volume fraction with the dimension 300*300 mm2. The value of young's modulus changes with the change in the volume fraction of FRC's which results in a stiffer material. Computer integrated universal testing machine with a limit of 100KN is used to carry out the test. The data from the testing is collected using Kalpak software. According to the standards required for the Tension test, Three points bending test, and Hardness test, the specimen is fabricated. For the three different (10%, 20% & 30%) volume fractions of the reinforcement (Banana and E glass), Tensile and hardness tests are conducted. The experimental results of the tensile test, show that the hybrid combination of banana and E glass fibers is 56% stiffer, enabling an increase in elasticity and UTS. Hene it is concluded that the mechanical properties of the laminate have improved by incorporating the E glass fabric with the banana fabric in the composite laminate.
