Popis: 1. 1. During the 60-hr embryonic period of the Indian-meal moth, Plodia interpunctella (Hubner), neutral lipid depletion per egg is 1·10 μg, and the increase in phospholipids is 0·04 μg. 2. 2. Triglyceride, the major neutral lipid fraction, is the lipid source of energy, with 1·18 μg per egg catabolized during the embryonic period. At the same time, diglyceride, free fatty acid and hydrocarbon increase, while monoglyceride, sterol and sterol ester remain essentially unchanged. 3. 3. Just before the egg hatches, the hydrocarbon fraction doubles, then doubles again in young larvae.
