Popis: The article considers the repertoire of books and periodicals printed in Odessa in the period from the 1820s to 1880, in the Odessa Vorontsov library. The main source of the study of the repertoire of local publications contained in the library of the Vorontsov family is Inventory of the library of the entailed estate of His Serene Highness Prince Semyon Mikhailovich Vorontsov in Odessa, which records the books published in Odessa available in the Vorontsov collection at the time of its donation to the Novorossiysky University at the end of the 19 century. This collection began to take shape under the governor-general of Novorossiya and the plenipotentiary governor of Bessarabia (1823–1856) as well as the Caucasian governor (1844–1856), Count, since 1845 – Prince Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov (1782–1856). Its formation was completed under the last owner of the family collection – Prince Semyon Mikhailovich Vorontsov (1823–1882), who was at the head of the town council of Odessa in 1863–1867. M. S. Vorontsov who was known as a philanthropist, contributed actively to the formation of the scientific and cultural elite of the city. During his lifetime, the library was completed by the works promoting intellectual and cultural development of the inhabitants of Odessa and the entire region (publications on history and archeology dominated). Under his son, the library was supplemented by a significant collection of published documents and materials from local authorities. The article emphasizes that the main problem of studying the book heritage of Odessa in the 19 th th century is the lack of a complete register of local printed production. The earliest Odessa editions from the collection of the Vorontsov Palace are listed. The books are characterized according to their themes and language of publications. Copies with ownership marks have been registered after de visu viewing of this part of the collection.
