Popis: A spectrophotometric method for the determination of iron is described. The green Fe(II) complex is formed at pH 4.8 in a medium containing 40% dimethylformamide and 0.8 g/l ascorbic acid, and the absorbance is measured at 635 nm. The molar absorptivity is 5.7×103lo·mole−1·cm−1. The method has been applied with good results to the determination of iron in six alloys and ores.
