Popis:	An overview is given about some aspects of history, principles and application of plant cell and tissue cultivation. The main topics of application discussed in the paper are aspects of plant propagation, plant breeding, techniques for in vitro cultivation, in vitro production of secondary plant products, biotransformations, application of immobilized cells as well as economic aspects of plant cell and tissue culture.
