Popis: Thirty-six cases of spondylolisthesis (21 spondylolytic olisthesis and 15 degenerative olisthesis) which had been surgically treated from 1975 to 1987 were investigated clinically and radiographically in special reference to reduction or reposition of slipped vertebral body. In this report, 2 out of 5 cases who did not undergo interbody fusion or posterolateral fusion in degenerative olisthesis showed radiographically progressive slipping in follow-up period, though clinical symptoms remained relieved. On the other hand, of 10 patients who underwent interbody fusion and posterolateral fusion in degenerative olisthesis, 6 cases having achieved reduction showed more excellent results in relief of clinical symptoms than 4 cases without reduction. We concluded that, if safely performed, reduction of slipped vertebral body is an effective procedure in degenerative olisthesis.
