Popis: A study recently has been completed of the patients treated for tuberculosis of the hip from 1904 to 1921 at the Country Branch of the New York Orthopaedic Dispensary and Hospital. This division of the hospital was opened at White Plains, N. Y., in 1904, for the purpose of making possible the treatment of a group of cases of tuberculosis of the joints for a considerable period of time under the best attainable conditions in the country, where sunlight and good air could be utilized. It was realized that the results under the usual dispensary regimen were far from satisfactory, and it was hoped that with the patients under the full and constant supervision of the staff and in a good environment the story would be a different one. The patients with hip disease were treated with the Taylor traction hip splint and heliotherapy. In all, 208 patients were treated
