| Popis: | Leiomyosarcoma is a rare tumor that originates in the smooth muscle. The omentum has been rarely reported as a primary of occurrence with leiomyosarcoma. A 58-year-old woman presented with abdominal distension and palpable pelvic mass. Abdominal computed tomography scan showed 32×27×16 cm-sized heterogeneous enhancing mass in the pelvic and abdominal cavity. An exploratory laparotomy revealed a solid tumor in the greater omentum and total omentectomy and multiple biopsies were performed. The tumor was diagnosed as a leiomyosarcoma by histological and immunohistochemical examinations. We present here a case of primary leiomyosarcoma of the greater omentum with brief review of literature. |
