Popis:	Anatomical variations have proven in the past to make the placement of neuraxial anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks technically challenging and sometimes unsuccessful with the use of anatomical landmarks with or without nerve stimulation for placement. Patients with skeletal changes such as scoliosis and kyphosis require technical expertise and adaptability for successful placement of neuraxial analgesia. Multiple cadaver studies have shown these anatomical variations, which with the use of sonography, have increased the proceduralist success rate in the placement of neuraxial and peripheral nerve blocks. In this chapter, we discuss common anatomical anomalies, which should be considered when placing these blocks.
