| Popis: | A commitment to safeguarding confidentiality is essential in ensuring patients’ trust. With increasingly complex models of healthcare, changing uses of personal patient data, and sharing of patient information between services, confidentiality can be difficult to maintain in the day-to-day practice of primary care. This article summarises the ethical and legal basis of confidentiality, describes circumstances where confidentiality may be overridden, and considers current and future challenges in practice. |
