Popis: The processing performance of unopened-boll-harvested cotton was inferior to that of normally-harvested cotton, characterized primarily by fibers sticking to the rolls of processing machinery. The stickiness was attributed to high sugar levels. Yarn quality of unopened-boll cotton was equal to or superior to that of the normally-harvested cotton. Dust levels produced by unopened-boll cottons during carding were signifi cantly lower than those produced by normally-harvested cotton.
