Popis: | Sewage sludges and chemical wastes resulting from human and industrial activities are usually dumped into controlled waste sites, where in some cases different bulk chemicals can be present together. The risk assessment at these sites is essential in order to prevent the potential hazards arising from the nature of compounds, from their chemical transformations, and from their diffusion into the environment. The determination of metal contents for well-defined wastes is a preliminary step to the evaluation of solid waste interactions with reference soils dedicated to landfull disposal. Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) has been preferred over other techniques for its speed of analysis and wide linear calibration range, with the nature of the samples and the large number of metals to be determined being taken into account. |
