Popis: It is well known that the oil and gas industry is going through a difficult phase and in the current down trend, cost optimization is the prime focus for all oil and gas operators. At the start of a new project, the conceptualization and cost benefits in Instrumentation are considered as key parameters and also the implementation pf these should be utilizing the latest technologies. "Wireless Instrumentation" is considered as one of the prime focus area for new projects that are under conceptualization and when at the planning stage. This technical paper explores the benefits of implementing the state of the art technology "Wireless Instrumentation" by comparing the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) in "Not Normally Manned Well Head Platforms". Although this paper concentrates on the benefits with respect to the not normally manned well heads platforms only, however the topics taken for discussion can be extended to cover Processing Facilities, FPSO's and also other onshore facilities.
