Popis: The US has a relatively smaller elderly population than Japan: 15% are over 65 years old in the US in 2015, compared to 26% in Japan. But by 2050 the US proportion is expected to reach 22%. If the aged voters do not want to pay taxes for the programs benefiting children or young families, these programs may have smaller budget.
