Popis: When the volume of the solid being deformed does not change, as in this case, u = 0.5. In the rolling of thin strip whose width-to-thickne ss ratio is not less than 5 : 1 (b ~ 5h), use is made of the plane strain condition ~2 = 0 [2], and consequently the law of plastic flow (analogous to Hooke's law for a solid undergoing elastic deformation) [3] for the second principal strain, expressed in terms of the second principal stress, may be written
