Popis: The effects of initial stratification on single-mode Rayleigh-Taylor instability are examined using fully compressible wavelet-based direct numerical simulations. Such instabilities are widespread and are found in inertial confinement fusion, supernova ignition fronts, x-ray bursts, and geophysics.
