Magnetic Excitation in Singlet-Ground-State System CsFeCl3

Popis: | Effects of magnetic fields on the magnetic excitation of hexagonal singlet-ground-state magnet CsFeCl 3 are studied on the basis of the dynamical correlated-effective-field theory. First, the single-ion anisotropy energy D and the intrachain (interchain) exchange integral J 1 ( J 2 ) are determined so as to reproduce the observed magnon energies of particular k -points at T =5 K: D =14 cm -1 , J 1 =2.59 cm -1 and J 2 =-0.14 cm -1 . The value of D is almost the same as that of RbFeCl 3 , but the magnitudes of J 1 and J 2 are smaller than those of RbFeCl 3 . The calculated field dependence of the magnon energies at the Brillouin zone center agrees well with the experimental data obtained by ESR measurements. The magnetic excitation of CsFeBr 3 with antiferromagnetic intrachain exchange interaction is also calculated and the results are compared with those of CsFeCl 3 . |
