Popis: This article presents ways to increase economic and environmental efficiency of the use of renewable sources of energy due to their application at open pits and dumps purposefully formed during the extraction of solid commercial minerals. It determines the main characteristics of wind and solar energy. It provides calculation of the vertical profile of annual average wind speed for Chelyabinsk region and the Republic of Bashkortostan. The authors determine trends of wind current speed and square dump area depending on the dump's height. The way of arrangement of the solar panel on the slops of an open pit and dump is substantiated. Arrangement of photoelectrical panels at the upper open pit slopes and that of wind generators on the dump surface has been substantiated for conditions of Suranovskoe deposit. The total power outcome pf the units will amount at least 150 MW/year.
