In this paper, the argentine theologian Alberto Fernando Roldan analyses the last speech of Paul Tillich in 1965 about "The Meaning of History of Religions to the Christian theologian". Roldan presents the arguments developed by Tillich in which are emphasized his criticisms of Karl Barth and of a "godless religion" found in the "Death of God’s theology". In the last part of his work, Roldan analyses Tillich’s proposal of a "Concrete Spirit’s Religion". Such designation supposes an alternative of a religion in which is emphasized the "theonomy" as an overcoming place of heteronomy and autonomy, where the religious symbolism is able to enrich the dialogue between distinct religions of the world. In this sense, Roldan interprets Tillich’s message as being providential and emblematic. |
