This study aims to analyze SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP students’ chemical literacy ability on reaction rate topic according to two theoretical frameworks; definition of chemical literacy adapted by Shwartz and levels of scientific literacy developed by Bybee and BSCS. This descriptive research is a quantitative study involving 48 students at 11th grade in science major. Data was obtained from a chemical literacy test, then was analyzed by using Rasch model. The results showed that students dominated three lowest literacy levels, that is functional scientific literacy (36%), scientific illiteracy (28%), and nominal scientific literacy (22%). Rasch analysis showed that 91.7% of students have negative measure scores with mean of students’ measure scores 1.07 logit. This indicates that students' chemical literacy ability on reaction rate topic are low. Keywords: Chemical Literacy, Reaction Rate, Rasch Model Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi kimia siswa SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP pada topik laju reaksi sesuai dua kerangka teoretis; definisi literasi kimia yang diadaptasi oleh Shwartz dan level literasi sains yang dikembangkan oleh Bybee dan BSCS. Penelitian deskriptif ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang melibatkan 48 siswa kelas XI MIPA. Data diperoleh dari pelaksanaan tes literasi kimia, kemudian dianalisis dengan model Rasch. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mendominasi tiga level literasi terendah, yaitu functional scientific literacy (36%), scientific illiteracy (28%), dan nominal scientific literacy (22%). Analisis Rasch menunjukkan 91,7% siswa memiliki nilai measure negatif dengan rata-rata nilai measure siswa 1,07 logit. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan literasi kimia siswa pada topik laju reaksi tergolong rendah. Kata Kunci: Literasi Kimia, Laju Reaksi, Model Rasch |
