Côte D’Or National Sports Complex, Mauritius: engineering a new African sporting hub

Popis:	The Côte D’Or National Sports Complex provided the African island nation of Mauritius with world-class sporting venues for the 2019 Indian Ocean Island Games. The new high-performance facilities were designed and built in just 2 years against a backdrop of complex geotechnical conditions, rigorous settlement criteria and the challenges of operating in a tropical environment prone to seasonal cyclone activity. Additional considerations included the limited local procurement capacity and material availability. The lessons learned and standards applied provide a useful resource for similar works in the Indian Ocean region.
