Calcium-based stabilizing agents have been extensively used to improve the engineering properties of base and subgrade layers of pavement systems. Recently, polymers and chemical stabilizers have become popular due to cost efficiency, ease of application, and fast curing times. This study presents a comprehensive laboratory testing program quantifying the strengths of treated subgrade soils. Here, the strength is defined in terms of California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values. The results of the CBR tests showed that non-traditional stabilizing agents significantly increased the strength characteristics of subgrade soils. |
