Preparation of a treatment of the family Apocynaceae for the Flore de Madagascar et des Comores necessitates the description of 11 new species and one new variety in subfamilies Periplocoideae (Baroniella effusa, Pentopetia suarezensis) and Secamonoideae (Calyptranthera punctulata, C. rosea, Pervillaea lanata, Secamone chouxii, S. dictyoneura, S. furcata, S. glabra, S. laevis, S. parviflora and S. toxocarpoides var. incana). Furthermore, an amended description of Pervillaea tomentosa is provided necessitated by an earlier confusion of this taxon with P. brevirostris (here synonymized) and with the new species P. lanata. |
