Popis: Descriptions of robots—portrayed as artificial helpers or companions—have been documented throughout human history. The ancient Greek god Hephaestus, for example, was said to have built automata of gold and silver to assist him in his forge. Other conceptions include automated “toys” such as a wooden, steam-propelled bird that was able to fly invented by Archytas of Tarentum about 420 bc and highly intelligent humanoids starring in movies such as I, Robot, the Terminator trilogy, or most recently in “Robot and Frank” (2012)—a movie picturing the intimate friendship between a retired burglar and his walking, talking helper who enables Frank to get back to his previous “occupation” despite progressing dementia.
