Popis: Extracranial metastases of intracranial meningioma are rare. The number of reports of meningioma with extracranial metastases is 77, according to our investigations. We have recently experienced a case of liver metastases of intracranial meningioma. A 42-year-old female arrived with complaints of abdominal pain and an abdominal mass. She had undergone cranitomies for an intracranial meningioma. We removed liver tumors by left lobectomy. Multiple tumors occupied the left lobe which were well circumscribed. The largest tumor was 16×16×13cm in size, and many smaller tumors surounded it. Histoloigcally the tumors turned out to be meningioma. We therefore reexamined the specimen of the proviously excised intracranial meningioma from the second cranitomy. The meningioma was found to be a malignant type. The patient has been alive and well after the liver operation. The mode and site of the metastases are discussed with a review of the literature.
