M Belbin questionnaire as a psychodiagnostic tool common in English-speaking countries, designed to study the structure of group roles in the team («boss», «organizer», «brain center», «controller», «researcher», «workaholic», «team coordinator», «finisher»). It is emphasized that today, despite the significant diagnostic potential, there are no Ukrainian-language versions of the questionnaire R. M. Belbin. In this article, the questionnaire was adapted on the example of a psychological study of employees of the National Police of Ukraine, so the study involved about four hundred police officers, including patrolmen, forensic scientists, police officers. The average test norms, as well as the main psychometric characteristics of the adapted questionnaire are presented, in particular, attention is paid to the criterion and constructive validity, reliability, internal consistency of the scales. It was found that 20% of the surveyed police officers play an important role for police units «workaholic», which indicates their diligence, conservatism, commitment, organizational skills, practicality, self-discipline, diligence. It was found that the same number of respondents realize the role of «researcher», which implies the presence in their personal arsenal of such qualities as enthusiasm, curiosity, activity, ability to communicate with others, to explore new things. Next in frequency is the role of «boss», which characterizes police officers as responsible, disciplined, self-organized, capable of self-control. A small proportion of respondents have the roles of «organizer» and «controller». It is emphasized that the presented adapted Ukrainian-language questionnaire by R. M Belbin is recommended for application by psychologists of police bodies and units in establishing the employee's belonging to a certain personality type and determining his inclinations to perform group roles in the unit, which will further contribute to quality performance of duties.
