A four element array antenna has been presented for the Global Positioning System (GPS) signal reflections through remote sensing applications. The GPS antenna receiver senses both reflected signals and direct signals, which are stronger than the reflected signal, depending on the Earth's surface. To ensure the reflected GPS signal has the potential to provide information, a circular polarised antenna is required to operate at a 1.27GHz frequency. Corner truncations and slits for each element with inset feed line are proposed, while performing RHCP with 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth in between 89.27° and 163.82°. The gain and directivity of the proposed antenna are 3.32 dB and 8.65 dB, respectively. This compact and low cost-compact antenna also has an improved total performance efficiency, greater than 80%. The design methodology and results has been discussed in this letter. |
