Magnetic properties of rapidly quenched pseudoternary Pr2Fe14C alloy ribbons

Popis: We investigated the magnetic properties of melt spun Pr2Fe14C and several pseudoternary compounds of the type Pr2(Fe, M)14C and (Pr, R)2Fe14C. A value of iHc∼1.3 kOe was obtained in Pr2Fe13MnC alloy ribbons. Heavy rare earth substitution leads to an increase in room temperature intrinsic coercivity. A value of iHc=3 kOe, 6 kOe was achieved for (Pr0.6Gd0.4)2Fe14C, (Pr0.6Dy0.4)Fe14C alloy ribbons, respectively, and large intrinsic coercivity of 18 kOe was found in Pr7.9Dy5.2Fe79.7C7.2 composition.
