Popis: | PPP projects are now being considered as a financing option for infrastructural development across the globe. The study was guided by accountability theory. The successful adoption of PPP projects in developing countries has been hindered by different poor accountability mechanisms. The main objectives of the study are to examine the relevance of accountability theory in adoption of PPPs and to analyse the issues of accountability for PPP projects in developing countries. Data collected through review of scholarly literature and documents review was analysed using narratives. The Study findings revealed that accountability theory is highly relevant to the adoption of PPP projects and that accountability is very fundamental for effective adoption of PPPs in developing countries. It was concluded that accountability theory should always be put into consideration if PPPs are to succeed. It was recommended that developing countries need to ensure a conducive accountability mechanism for successful adoption of PPPs. |
