Spectral hole burning in CaF2–YF3:Nd3+ crystals

Popis: Transient spectral holes were burned at T =8–6 K in the different Stark components of the inhomogeneous 4 I 9/2 → 4 G 5/2 , 2 G 7/2 absorption band of disordered mixed Nd 3+ : CaF 2 -YF 3 crystals under selective laser excitation. Temperature and wavelength dependencies of the hole width were measured and the homogeneous line broadening due to nonradiative inter-Stark single phonon transitions for the ground and excited states were estimated in terms of the resonant direct relaxation process.
