Popis: Failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis is a systems level analysis to quantify the robustness of product design for an intended application. Intrinsic Safety is a Hazardous Locations protection method based on the limitation of energy and power within an electrical device such that no spark or thermal ignition can occur. Currently, reliability analysis of intrinsically safe devices is limited to the de-rating of specific protective components. The application of FMECA methods to intrinsically safe product development can promote robust, economical product design.
