Necip Fazil Kisakurek, an influence on Turkish thought and politics through his ideas and publications, lived during important periods of the Westernization adventure that started with Tanzimat and lasted afterwards. He came up with literary and political ideas within the reformist structure during which remains accepted by the nationalists and conservatives. Kisakurek emphasized the importance of religious, national and moral values pushed back by the approach of Westernization within an Islamic existence and criticizes the reforms that have been made historically as a whole. This work aims to present Kisakurek's thought axis, effective intellectual aspects and political actions. Kisakurek's view of the Westernization process and criticisms are presented, while attention is drawn to his idealized political action with the Buyuk Dogu and his relationship with political parties of the period. |
